CONSTITUTION OF BERRYESSA CHINESE SCHOOL

This School shall be known as Berryessa Chinese School.
Section 2 LocationThe principal office of this school shall be fixed and located in the Berryessa area, County of Santa Clara, California. The Board of Directors may at any time change the office to another location in the County of Santa Clara.
The purpose of the School is to offer and promote Chinese Language and Culture.
The School shall be a non-profit, educational organization under the Internal Revenue Service Code, i.e. 501(c) (3) of 1954 (or the corresponding provision of any future U.S. Internal Revenue service Law).
Section 2The School shall not be involved in any local or foreign party politics and shall not be used for the purpose of endorsing candidates for public offices.
Section 3The School is a co-operative organization. Every member (parent) has to serve for the School at least three (3) hours each semester.
Section 4The School shall admit students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the School. It does not discriminate an the basis of races, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school administered programs.
Section 5The School shall maintain a close relationship with Berryessa School District, the East Side Union High School District, and other School Districts in the area. The School shall work closely with the Foreign Language Department and other related departments of the School Districts to promote the multi-culture/ multi-lingual environment and education.
Amendments to this Constitution shall be made in accordance with the Bylaws.
Upon the dissolution of the School, the Board of Directors shall, after payment of all liabilities, dispose of all the remaining assets of the School, including but not limited to properties, books and materials, and funds, exclusively for charitable, educational or scientific purpose as shall, at the time, be qualified for tax-exemption under the Internal Revenue Service Code.
