BCS graduates in college

F. C. Chong, a formal BCS Dean of Curriculum in Mandarin is leading a special program inviting recent BCS graduates to talk to our upper class students about their college experiences. The subject will focus on how Chinese language and cultural education they learned in BCS have helped them to excel in college.

This program will allow BCS to improve our communications with the upper class students and to prepare them for college. It will also bridge the gap and to lessen their fear of the unknowns. At the same time, this program will motivate them to stay at school despite their busy workload during their Sophomore and Junior High School years.

F. C.'s twin sons have gone through 13 years of Chinese School. They are now freshman in Yale and in Stanford. They are more than ready to be in the first wave of BCS college students to offer their insight and testimonial to BCS students. They can mentor, give proper guidance and answer any questions about colleges and the transitions. BCS has many recent grads located in many areas so they can take turn to contribute to this "give-back" program.

The program will begin during the first week of the BCS school year since colleges on a quarterly system tend to start later than high school. The second opportunity will come in May when colleges on the semester system have already finished. There are plenty of opportunities during the school year especially for local college students.

BCS would like to thank F. C. Chong for returning to help the school. His spirit, experience and proven track record is admirable. Thank you.
