It started in 1982 in the Vinci Park auditorium. Every class came up with a program to be presented to the whole school around the Chinese New Year time. It was a relatively short program because of the small number of classes. As the student body grew, the number of classes began to increase. After we left Vinci Park in 1985 and moved to Toyan which did not have a large auditorium, Ray Lee, Principal, arranged to use Piedmont Hills School. As the number of programs started to increase, the length of the program prolonged. The date was pushed out and program became the Spring Program. It then turned into a mini carnival type of program/activities with game booths and all sorts of activities. The following year a separate activity day began and it had evolved to become today's Fall Carnival. Every year, different themes were presented. Each class comes up with an idea to participate. All the proceeds go to each class fund. From innovative game booths with donated prizes to various kinds of mini-flea market entrepreners and of course the authentic food bazzaar are amongst the all so popular themes. Last year, the Fall Carnival had the most participated year. 37 class booths, out of 64 classes participated. An estimated crowd of over 600 had a fun filled day at the Sierramont Middle School playground. We would like to acknowledge the Sierramont Middle School for the use of the playground, year after year, the volunteer parents that were the integral part of the program to setup and participate in the annual Carnival.
