Fei-O Lee, a long time cultural dance teacher with Berryessa Chinese School, has been performing in San Jose Earth Day for many years. |
Fei-O once said that
"... Art is not a castle in the sky. It needs to be implemented in real life
to provide inspiration to mankind.
It has been two decades since I followed my heart to dance. I started my teaching career sixteen years ago to carry out my belief in the art of dance. Guiding youngsters and friends into the world of dance is an important part of my life. Through the training of dance, I teach youngsters to use body motion to express their feelings. Over the past twenty years, I have searched for the true meaning of life and art so that I may merge traditional dance with contemporary concepts to create a new perspective to Chinese traditional dance. I named my workshop: "Kun-Shin" - working on your soul. I believe dance is an activity to beautify people's souls and I want to work hard to help accomplish this for myself and others. Because I am a believer in fate, I follow wherever fate leads me. From teaching the dance class at the Berryessa Chinese School, to founding the "Kun-Shin" dance workshop, fate has brought me many good friends to work with. I appreciate the opportunity to work with these friends and practice my belief in the ability of dance to beautify the soul". Fei-O's dances can be found in the BCS Spring Performances. |
