Berryessa Music Festival

Berryessa Music Festival is organized by the Berryessa Community Center Advisory Council (BCCAC) and the City of San Jose Parks and Recreation Department. It is held next to the Community Center one week after the Labor Day weekend.

The relaxing program usually begins in the afternoon with the set up of information booths about the community. Professional musicians brings excitement and entertainment to the audience well into the evening. Celine Chan is a member of BCCAC. She is also a parent and a teacher of Berryeesa Chinese School as well as a community activist. Under her guidance, Berryessa Chinese School has participated in the Music Festival for a number of years.

Freebies and Good Deals

Free family music festivals this weekend The fifth annual Berryessa Music Festival takes place this Saturday at Penitencia Creek Park. A free event for the whole family, this half-day festival features free outdoor music concerts, games and activities for children, and, supposedly, the best Polish sausages and hot links west of Chicago. The four musical groups playing this year are McCarty and Company, Lady Bo and the BC Horns, Flashback, and Ray and the UVs. This festival is sponsored by the City of San Jose, Berryessa Community Center and the Advisory Council, and the AFM Musicians Local 153. It takes place Sept. 11 from 1 to 7 p.m. at Penitencia Creek Park, 3050 Berryessa Road. The entertainment, children's activities, and parking are free; beverages and food are available for purchase.
