Tutoring Program At Piedmont

The tutoring program began early December 1999 at the start of the trimester. Ten volunteering students from BCS upper classes signed up for this program to help the Piedmont Middle School students in algebra. Arrangement had been made with Mrs. Debra Washington, Principal of Morrill Middle School and Ms. Jan Carlson, Math teacher to run two sessions every Wednesday from 3:30 PM to 4:15 PM and 4:15 PM to 5:00 PM for a total of 12 sessions. The feedback from the students and teachers were very positive.
Most of the students benefitted from the extra help. BCS would like
to take this opportunity to acknowledge the following students for
volunteering their time and skill to a good cause. Also, thanks to
the parents who encouraged the students to look outside the curriculum
and contribute to the the community. It is your efforts that make the
partnership program a success. Thanks again.
