Roasting Luwak Coffee - the beans were initially eaten by an animal called Paradoxurus Hermaphroditus which lived in the trees in Bali. The beans then went through the Luwak digestive tract, treated chemically and fermented inside the body before releasing back to the ground and picked up by the coffee farmers. It is regarded as a gourmet coffee worldwide. In Santa Monica, USA, a cup of Luwak coffee is sold for as much as US$65 or US$739/lb. What a poop! |
