Putrajaya

Contrasting to historical Kuala Lumpur downtown, Putrajaya is the modern federal government administrative capital located 16 miles south of KL.

The center piece of Putrajaya is the Prime Minister's Office Perdana Putra with the onion-shaped and glazed-mosaic main dome.

Connecting KL to Putrajaya, the Malaysia government built a transportation system, information networks and an IT Infrastructure corridor like that of the Silicon Valley. A nearby city was even named Cyberjaya to promote IT and entrepreneurship.

Being in the countryside but with ultra modern buildings, Putrajaya is also known as the "garden city" as well as the "intelligent city".

Travel sector in Hong Kong even called Putrajaya - 太子城, the city of the prince/putera.

Putrajaya was built around a number of man-made lakes Tasik Putrajaya.

Putrajaya enjoys being nurtured in a truly green environment where half of the body of water in Tasik Putrajaya is in a natural wetland for water treatment and purification. The body of water also attracts wildlife from around.

Putra Mosque Masjid Putra, with its rose-color granite mosaic, is situated next to Prime Minister's Office Perdana Putra.

Three quarters of the mosque is surrounded by the lake Tasik Putrajaya so at times the mosque appears to be floating on water.

There are at least 7 bridges on lake Tasik Putrajaya connecting the various land masses.

Each bridge has a unique design. Some are ultra modern looking while others are modeled after some famous bridges from around the world. Here's the Jambatan Seri Saujana bridge.

Here are two bridges visually overlapping each other on different side of the lake ... or are there three bridges.

The Jambatan Seri Wawasan bridge has an impressive geometrical design looking from the water.

The same Jambatan Seri Wawasan bridge is even more impressive as seen on deck.

Here's one of many large government buildings along the lake.

Here's a huge one not far from the other.

Here were four more large buildings with different designs.

And here's a mosque, Mahkamah Syariah Putrajaya, Palace of Justice and the Courthouses, among the government buildings.

The Millennium Monument has on display the Malaysia history, success, sacrifices, and achievements.

Putrajaya Landmark/Mercu Tanda was said to contain a time capsule symbolizing the city's beginning. It was located on the highest point in Putrajaya with a panoramic view of the city.

On the south end of the Putrajaya Blvd was the Putrajaya International Conference Center (PICC).

PICC was located on top of the hill looking back to the Dataran Putra and the Putra Mosque/Masjid Putra 4.2KM away.
