Ha Long Bay 下龍灣

According to the local legend, Ha Long Bay were created by a dragon descending from the heaven scattering jade and jewels that formed thousands of islands below. Not surprisingly, this beautiful land and seascape has been declared a Unesco World Heritage site.

3,000 islands dotted this area, many of them uninhabited.

Ha Long Bay was also known as "Guilin On The Sea".

Ha Long Bay was located east of Hanoi and was about 3.5 hours drive away.

The area was formed by a giant limestone seabed which erode over thousands of years. Only the pinnacles left as islands today.
